Plans will soon be underway for a Canadian D.A.R.E. Conference to take place in 2011.  A committee comprised of various coordinators will be formed within the near future and as soon as a date is established it will be posted on this site.   Watch for a "news flash" in the early fall.
Canadian D.A.R.E. Conference a huge sucess:
The first National D.A.R.E. conference held in Niagara Falls was a huge sucess. There were 148 registered delegates.  Four different workshops ran concurrently so time could be maximized for this two day event.  Welcoming adresses by O.P.P. and R.C.M.P. Command Officers set the stage for the conference, re-assuring attendees that prevention techniques such as those taught through the D.A.R.E. program are even more significant in these economic times.
The Conference was highlighted by the talented Canadian recording artist, "Michala Todd" a DARE graduate from Tottenham, Ontaro.  Michala has been declared a "champion" of the DARE program and will be making appearances at upcoming DARE events. The following is an excerpt from the conference closing remarks given by RCMP Staff Sgt. Bob Hall.
"Michala Todd, she was the most important presentation of this conference.  She was excited and proud to be a DARE graduate and proud to be here for you.
Her proud parents were with her when she gave back to you the same way you gave to her - unselfish time.
Her impact on youth in the future can be enormous. Just like you, she has an opportunity to be a super hero and last night she joined our team and became part of our family. Respect, that is what the program teaches. Respect for yourself and respect for others."
A special thank you to all of the people who were part of the National Conference Committee, who made this such a success.
